pool at the almond resort

I was fortunate to be able to stay at the all inclusive Almond Beach Club resort in Barbados for a tidy length of time. The services were very good. We had excellent night time entertainment in the area bar - it was a little small, the dance floor was very small, but the musicians were great. Fun and enjoyable to listen to as well as talk to.

The mornings were spent in the open air restaurant with buffets for breakfast. The food was anything you wanted - fresh eggs, bacon, potatoes, fresh fruit (always a favorite with me), bread and muffins. Lots of orange juice, as well as other juices. Coffee and tea in abundance.

If you are an adult, you can hop on the shuttle and visit the "Adults Only" Almond resort down the street. You can also walk across the busy streets to do shopping at the great little "put together" chattel houses. Great buys from great people.

We had a "personal" driver - who remains a good friend to this day and I recommend his services to all those that I send to Barbados. David takes you to stretches of the Island that not everyone knows about. He has lived in the area forever and knows all the places that tourists do not ordinarily find.

The pools at both Almond Resorts are warm, clean and friendly. There are many lounge chairs everywhere - including the beach area so you don't have to feel like rushing out to "nab" your choice first thing in the morning.

They have a great Italian restaurant - it's the one you have to "request" dining at and is approximately $25 per person to do so but WELL WORTH IT.

The beaches are marvelous. The fish love sparkly toenail polish and swarm around your toes the minute you step in the water. They feel so cute around your feet. In turn you feel wanted and well loved.

The Barbadian people are great, friendly and fun to be with. There are pottery shops, rum shops, night time shows and more. The whole Island has everything you might want to see.

The Almond Resort has everything a couple, single or even family could think of just by itself.....you don't have to go anywhere but the pool or beach to enjoy yourself. This is a great place for a destination wedding or a honeymoon.
